  • This device is an interface between your Broad band Internet connection and your regular analog phone. This device takes care of IP protocol required to facilitate phone call over internet.

  • What is a Unique Identification number?
  • The VOIP device will be assigned a unique identification no. which can be accessed by caller who wants to reach you. The number is provided to you at sign-up.

  • Will Opto Network Services service save money?
  • Yes. Individuals and corporate with moderate to large long distance or international call usage can enjoy significant savings of about 20%, 30%, or 50% or more.

  • How do I use Opto Soft Phone/Web Phone?
  • The Opto Web Phone is a web based application available on Opto Network’s website in the form of a link/Button. You need to just click the Web Phone link and after entering your userID & Password, you can simply dial your desired destination number. In order to run this application, you will require a headset with a microphone.

  • When calling other parties, do they also need Opto Network service or another VoIP service?
  • No. Using Opto Network services you can connect to any Telephone number be it landline or Mobile in the world. Also you can connect any Opto Network user free of charge when they are online.

  • Do I need my computer running in order to receive calls?
  • In case you are using the Opto Web Phone/Soft Phone, your computer must be running online to receive calls. If your computer is not online then call can be directed to your Voicemail. If you are using a device that works without a computer such as an IP phone or a VOIP Device, calls will be directed to that device; unanswered calls will be directed to your Voicemail.

  • Can I use Opto Network service from anywhere in the world?
  • Yes, your Opto Network account provides you the complete flexibility and you can access Opto Network from anywhere in the world using Opto Web phone or a phone adapter. To access Opto Web Phone, simply click the URL and log in with your user credentials.

  • Will the Opto Network service interfere with my DSL or cable modem data connection?
  • The Opto Network service routes your incoming and outgoing voice calls along with the data being sent to or from your computer. Thus, you can make and receive calls while you use your computer to access the Internet. Opto Network uses advanced audio compression techniques to optimize the bandwidth utilization for maximum benefits.

  • Do I need a fixed / static IP to use Opto Network service?
  • No, you don’t need a static IP address to use Opto Communicator service. The service is designed to work in a dynamic address environment.

  • Does the person being called require to use Opto Network service only?
  • No, with Opto Network service you can call any phone number that you could call with a conventional phone. Calls to regular phones are charged on a per minute basis while those to other Opto Network users are free.

  • What are monthly calling plans?
  • The calling plans are designed with aggressive rates to most frequently dialed destinations. The plans comes with fixed numbers of minutes to those special destinations to be consumed within a validity period of one month.

  • What happen if there are unused minutes at the end of the month?
  • The unused minutes will be carried forward if you recharge your account on or before the last day of the validity period. For example Budget plan of Rs. 999/- offers 1111 free minutes of calling to UK/US/Canada and on 30th day you are left with 200 unused minutes. If you recharge you account for another month the total minutes available for next term shall be 1111+200=1311 minutes.

  • What if I forget to recharge my account before expiry?
  • At any point if the credit balance reduces to Zero, the service will be suspended till recharged. If account is not recharged within 15 days of suspension, a reactivation fee of Rs.50 will be charged.

  • What is VOIP Device Deposit?
  • The deposit amount is collected from the customer if customer desires to have VOIP device for making and receiving calls. Same is refunded when you decide to terminate the account and return the VOIP device to Opto Network

  • How can I make calls to destinations other than specified destinations under the calling plan?
  • You can always make calls to your desired destinations and the standard rates as displayed on our website shall be applicable.

  • How do you bill calls to regular phones?
  • We bill calls on a per minute basis, rounding up to the next whole minute. There is no minimum call duration. Check our Low Rates here.

  • Do I need a computer to use Opto Network service?
  • Not necessarily. With a VOIP device you can call many of Opto Communicator users directly. In case you don’t have the VoIP device then you need the Computer to make or receive calls.

  • Which telephone adapters are compatible with Opto Network service?
  • Opto Network supports practically all the SIP based IP phones and telephone VOIP Device/adaptors.

  • How do I make an international call?
  • It’s just like you are dialing from your regular phone Destination country code followed by telephone number.

  • How is the sound quality compare to my current phone?
  • Absolutely crystal clear quality since the voice signals are transmitted and received digitally over the Internet, the quality may exceed over the quality your current phone is offering.

  • How do I sign up for Opt Network Services?

  • What payment mode/methods are available?
  • Opto Network accepts payments through credit cards

  • What if I have a credit card but I do not feel comfortable purchasing over the web?

  • What is your cancellation and refund policy?
  • The services can be cancelled if you are not satisfied with our services and the balance amount if any can be refunded provided you purchase this service directly from Opto Network website or through our technical support or through online recharge using your registered phone. In case you are not satisfied with our services you can cancel the account anytime and claim for the refund of the balance amount before 90 days of purchase. Please note that all refunds are subject to the deduction of transaction charges.

  • How do I check my account balance?
  • Yes. You can login into the Opto Network web site and see the details.

  • Will you sell or share my information with other companies?
  • No. All information you submit will be kept strictly confidential. We also take extra measures to protect your sensitive information by restricting access and encrypting your sensitive personal data.

  • What connections Opto Network Services will work with?
  • Opto Network Services is compatible with Internet services such as Dial-up 56Kbits/sec, DSL, or Cable.
